Mental Health Conversations: Author Ron Powers

Ron Powers is New York Times bestselling author living in Castleton, Vermont - he is the author of 13 books and the co-author of three. These latter include the New York Times best-selling Flags of Our Fathers, written with James Bradley and published in 2000, and the Times best-selling True Compass, written with the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy and published in 2010.

His most recent one, No One Cares About Crazy People: The Chaos and Heartbreak of Mental Health in America, offers an account of the social history of mental illness in America as well as his personal story of his two sons’ battles with schizophrenia. At the library Ron will speak of his family’s journey with mental illness as well as his research on mental health and the health care system.
