Take the Watershed Explorer Challenge!

Funded by Lake Champlain Sea Grant, the Watershed Explorer Challenge teaches the basics of watershed science and how to protect and conserve freshwater. And it all comes in a handy little booklet that you can pick up at Carpenter-Carse!

The challenge has been designed for middle-school-aged youth but can also be appropriate for younger and older students.  A series of 11 activities are included and you may complete them at your own pace. Each completion brings you one step closer to becoming a certified Watershed Explorer- just fill out the prepaid postcard at the end and your certificate will be mailed to you!

The activities teach about the science, natural history, and culture of the Lake Champlain Watershed. Some even ask you to get outside and explore natural spaces. They cover such topics as climate change, water quality, food webs, and stream health.

Become a Watershed Explorer and help protect this very important resource. Booklets are available for free in our foyer- get yours today!
